Dr. Erica Hutten

Dr. Erica Hutten joined GVEC as an associate veterinarian in January of 2006. She is a native of Otto, New York, and a former member of Pony Club and 4-H. A 2003 graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University, Dr. Hutten was a member of the teams that give critical care to newborn foals and horses with colic while in veterinary school. Her proficiency in equine veterinary medicine was honored by the Cornell Faculty when she was chosen for both the Delehanty Memorial award and the Francis Fox scholarship. These awards recognize excellence in equine practice and large animal clinical diagnostics.
Dr. Hutten completed an internship at the Woodside Equine Clinic near Richmond, Virginia. There she gained experience in equine dentistry, lameness, internal medicine, emergency care, and reproduction. After completing her internship she entered private practice in Warrenton, Virginia. Dr. Hutten has special professional interests in equine dentistry and the use of new technologies in veterinary medicine.
In her free time Dr. Hutten enjoys foxhunting with the Genesee
