Dr. Emily Drake

This year we are fortunate to have Emily Drake, DVM join us all the way from Minnesota as GVEC's seventh intern. Emily has a bachelor's degree from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN, and has completed her veterinary studies at the University of Minnesota Veterinary School. She was awarded the prestigious Ned Olsen Memorial Scholarship for the senior student demonstrating great proficiency and professionalism in large animal medicine.

Since 2000 Emily has worked as a veterinary assistant at Anoka Equine Veterinary Services during breaks from school. Emily aspires to become a well-rounded clinician capable of providing the best possible care for each and every patient while also respecting clients' needs.

In addition to a love for horses, Emily likes to read, travel, and camp. She and her husband, Jason, have a Boston terrier named Charley who enjoys taking the two of them for walks.

We hope that Emily, Jason, and Charley will feel welcome here in the Genesee Valley . We know that a woman from Minnesota will have no trouble with a little bit of upstate New York winter.
